FAQ

Eye exams start from $85, depending on the extent and requirements of the testing. You can get your eye exam covered by insurance, so please bring your details. Eye exams are free for children under 19 and seniors over 65 years.

It is recommended that you get your eyes checked every two years. If you have vision or eye health problems, once a year is recommended.

The Alberta Association of Optometrists recommends that children have their first comprehensive eye exam between six to nine months, again between ages two to five, and every year or every other year after that.

Being prepared for your exams can prove crucial in diagnosing problems and determining solutions. Please bring your healthcare card/insurance card, a list of medication and vitamins you take, prescription glasses or contact lenses you currently wear, and notes about any abnormalities you’ve noticed in your vision.

Eye exams usually take around 30 to 40 minutes, not including discussions with our optometrists.

Nothing too extensive will happen during your examination, so you will be able to drive yourself to and from your appointment. However, if you are having trouble seeing or experiencing blurry vision due to the dilation of your eyes, it’s best to get someone to drive you from our centre.
